Beels

Beels

Lex Beels was a Dutchman who raced regularly across Europe. In 1949, Coopers were very expensive to purchase overseas so Lex built a series of Cooper derived cars in his own name using JAP engines. Lex drove regularly himself in his Orange car, often partnered by countryman Pim Richardson. By early 1953, Lex had to accept that the world had moved on, acquiring a Cooper Mk VI

Lex at Monaco in May 1950 where he finished third in his heat but was excluded in the final following a spin.
