In 1953, after assisting Tom Learnan with his RGR, George Henrotte built his own car, the Ettorne. It used twin wishbone suspension at the front and a swing axle at the rear. A JAP engine was used which compromised performance a little

George ran Campbell Garage in Hayes, Kent. In the early 1960s, he took over the Gemini Formula Juniors from the Chequered Flag Garage and in 1966 George founded Piper Cars to build distinctive glass fibre sports and racing cars.
