Parker Special

Parker Special

The second CFS was taken over by Don Parker from Charlie Smith after he was killed in practice for a motorbike race at Blandford. Don continued to develop the car, notably shortening the wheelbase to suit his slight frame and reducing weight, which became the most successful non production car of the time and achieved several wins and placings in 1949 and 1950. For 1951, Don switched to the new JBS marque and the Parker special passed to Basil de Lissa.

A classic duel, Don in his Special leads Peter Collins in the 100 mile race at Silverstone, July 1949
