Jock McBain |
Jock is best known as the driving force behind the Border Reivers team and their sports car exploits. Jock was a Chirnside agricultural engineer and garage owner who had some success in the 30s but, sadly, the war and RAF service intervened in his driving career. Post hostilities, he saw the rise of 500cc racing in England and determined to put Scotland forward. Jock's team would assist with preparation and support. Jock only competed occasionally, his 500 performances included:
Jock's most notable achievement was the Border Reivers support for a young border farmer named Jim Clark.
