Laurence Pomeroy

Laurence Pomeroy was a Vice President of the 500 Club and President of the VSCC. He was the son of the brilliant engineer Laurence senior who played a significant role on the development of Vauxhall cars, including the Prince Henry Model.

Laurence was a journalist, author  and vintage car enthusiast and is best known today for the "Pom" an annual competition consisting of speed tests based on a handicap formula. He was instrumental in obtaining an invite for the fledgling "half pint" brigade to the first post war race meeting organised by the VSCC at Gransden Lodge in July 1947. Laurence died in 1966.
