Gurston Down 21st June 2015

A warm midsummers' day with not a Druid in sight greeted a reasonable turnout of 11 drivers for what was round three of our championship, and the first without any rain. Whilst several of the stalwarts were absent, Carl Klarberg joined John Forsyth to drive the Alfa Dana and Tony Claringbould had brought his JP. Charles Reynolds was V-twin mounted.

Most drivers thought their practice times were reasonable and for once there were no mechanical dramas for the 500’s, only some small adjustments, but the fuel pump on the V-twin was mis-behaving, causing much head scratching.

All went smoothly for the afternoon competition runs with everyone recording a brace of times, including Charles V-twin, where some re-plumbing and helped get the car running. Fin and Nick were the only two drivers into the 41 second bracket, both with amazingly consistent times.

Thank you to the BARC for a grand meeting and we look forward to coming back in September.

The next time out is the revived Chateau Impney hillclimb and then the championship rounds at Shelsley Walsh on 18-19 July.
