Harewood 30th August 2015

Relatively local man Richard Grant was in his Kiehn Special, joined by Nick and Charles Reynolds in Coopers, the latter V-twin mounted, and Fin Mackintosh (Cooper Mk.6) who was experiencing Harewood for the first time.

Nick, Fin and Richard E pose for someone else.

The two practice runs provided a fast-track lesson in learning the course for Fin whilst more of a refresher for Richard and Nick. Inconsistent braking on the Kiehn resulted in an off road excursion for Richard on run 1, otherwise there were no other practice problems.
For all, timed run 1 was to be the decider. Nick managed to shave .2 sec off his 2014 ‘current’ record time and head the field followed by Fin a most creditable 1.76 secs adrift and Richard a further 1.3 down. Charles’s V-twin, running in its own class, burbled its way to 1.5 secs down on son Nick.

Second runs were all a tad slower and ran without incident.
Thanks to the hill finishing at the paddock entrance, up to 3 cars can be on the hill at one time. This usually means that competitors can expect 3 or even 4 timed runs. However an unfortunate spectator paddock incident meant deploying the ambulance late morning, so it was the usual 2 runs.
