It was pouring with rain in the morning and the track was very wet and the paddock even wetter, with people using wheels as stepping stones over very large puddles to get to their support vehicles! Jan Nycz spun on the first practice on the part of the track called “mole hill” and ended up with his back wheels on the grass and although he managed to keep his car running he couldn’t get any traction to drive off the grass. So he had to stop the engine and get the marshals to help him to push the car off the grass and then bump start him to drive off the course! Turners pére et fils, Andrew’s making his debut drive, were a little luckier as they were able to complete the first practice, but with wheels spinning everywhere the times were quite slow. | |||||||||||||||||||||
