Walker Special

Walker Special

Walker 500.jpg (15159 bytes)Harold Walker built his Walker Special in 1952. It had a multi tubular chassis, front suspension by transverse leaf spring and lower wishbones and a swing axle at the rear suspended by rubber in tension. It was built to a high standard  but a JAP engine was used which made the car a little uncompetitive at a time when the front runners were running Manx Nortons by that time.

Harold still managed some creditable results:

Brands Hatch 12th October 1952, 5th in Consolation race.

Brands Hatch 7th April 1953 Easter Meeting, DNF in heat of Easter 20, 7th in heat of Easter open.

Brands Hatch 3rd May 1953, 3rd in Junior heat, 2nd in Junior final.

Brands Hatch 3rd August 1953 International Trophy Meeting, 3rd in International Trophy heat.

Silverstone 22nd August 1953 Commander Yorke Trophy, DNF in Silverstone 100.

Brands Hatch 4th October 1953, 1st in JAP race heat, 1st in final. 2nd in Open Challenge heat

Brands Hatch 4th July 1954, 6th in Senior race.

Crystal Palace 18th September 1954 Redex Trophy, 6th in heat

Brands Hatch 1st May 1955, 6th in heat
