Latest Circuit Racing Championship Points Table

Following the first round of our circuit racing championship the latest points table has been added to the circuit racing page. After the first two rounds at Snetterton Chris Wilson CP1 and George Shackleton CP3 share the top of the table, both taking two class wins at the Norfolk venue.

First Circuit Race of 2026

The first race of our circuit racing championship took place at Snetterton over the weekend 25th/26th April. Both races fell to George Shackleton in his Mk XI Cooper Norton. Results can be found on the events page. Hopefully a larger grid will appear for the next round at Mallory Park in May.

TYRES – Change of regulations

The club was informed by HP Tyres that Dunlop R5 204 compound tyres are no longer available. However, they have been replaced by Goodyear “Blue Streak” tyres which are identical in every respect to the Dunlop’s we are currently using, the only change being the name on the sidewall.

The 2026 techical regulations will therefore be amended as follows:

Section 15 Tyres:

15.1 Shall be Dunlop Racing of 204 compound or Goodyear Blue Streak as in the table below or older type tread patterns.

R 4.50 – 15 R5

R 5.00 – 15 R5

Motorsport UK are being advised of the amendment.

80th Anniversary of the 500 Club – Commemorative Sticker

2026 celebrates the 80th Anniversary of the 500 Club (established in 1946). To mark this occasion the 500 Owners Association have commissioned and produced some stickers to celebrate. Circuit Racing Entries Now Open

We are pleased to say that entries for the 500 OA Historic F3 Championship are now open in PurpleLap.

We are all looking forward to a fantastic season.
The grid for Brands Hatch is full but we still have space for Reserves. It would be wonderful if we could also get a full grid of 34 for the Roy Hunt Trophy at Oulton Park.
Before that we have Snetterton, Mallory Park and Cadwell. All great 500 circuits and hopefully there will be plenty of social fun to accompany the racing.
Angouleme entries will open later when we have more details.

Wiscombe Park entries are open!

A 16 round provisional speed event calendar has been released and can be found on the speed events page. 16 rounds at 11 venues makes an exciting season to look forward to.

2026 AGM – Saturday 24th January 2026

The AGM will be held at The Woodland Grange, Old Milverton Lane, Leamington Spa, CV32 6RN.

Coffee/Tea on arrival from 10.00 with the AGM starting at 10.30am in room 17.
Buffet Lunch in the Maple Restaurant. Approx 1pm.
The meeting should finish around 4pm.

Taking your trailer abroad

Many members will already know of this requirement, but just in case you are not aware, you must register all trailers over 750kg to drive to or through most countries in Europe, apart fromIreland, Cyprus, Malta and Spain.
This means that these trailers making international journeys will need to:
· display their own registration plate (separate from the vehicle towing them)
· have a trailer registration certificate that can be shown to a foreign authority on request
Countries where you don’t need to register your trailer
You do not need to register trailers that are only used:
· in the UK
· for journeys between the UK and Ireland
You also do not need to register trailers used in:
· Cyprus
· Malta
· Spain
However, you must register trailers to tow them through any country where the rules apply in order to reach Cyprus, Malta or Spain.
