In 1957, Ants Seiler and some friends began to make a racing cars as a hobby, in the city of Tallinn, Estonia. Ants, a well known Soviet racing driver, was born at Tartu in Estonia. The Estonia racing cars were built by TARK (Tallinna Autode Remondi Katsetehas), founded by Estonian engineers Roland Kruuk, Vaino Paasik, Elmar Kaart, Arno Joala and Ants Seiler. The company began as TART, building lorry spare-parts after the war, its racing activity started in the late 50s. Ants Seiler was killed at the wheel of a Estonia 9M - Wartburg during the first round of the 1968 Baltic Republics Championship in the Koltso Skorosti.

The Estonia-3 was powered by an IMZ-Ural twin-flat engine, 500 cc, 35 hp. It finished third in the USSR National Championship in 1960. Ants, himself won the Championship in 1961 and the car took all the top positions in 1962 and 1963.. | ![]() |
