WR 51

WR 51

Walter Weeke's car, powered by a BMW engine, placed behind the driver. He later fitted a JAP engine and appears to have built more than one.

1951 proved frustrating with poor reliability but things improved with a podium at Essen and second overall in the West German Championship.

By '53, the top five West German drivers were in Coopers but Walter took a respectable eighth in the Championship and Heinz managed a win at the Nürburgring.
