George Alderman

George Alderman

George Alderman raced in US Formula 3 from 1956 through to 1961. We're not sure what car he started in but he was driving a Cooper Mk V in 1957, which would have been somewhat outclassed by that time. He took third in the SCCA championship in '57 and continued into 1958 in the same car, but with few appearances. In '59, George took fourth overall, quite possibly still in the same car.

For 1960, he appears to have moved to a later Cooper, probably a Mk XI, to take four wins and several more podiums to win the SCCA Championship. He only appears briefly in 1961 ending the year in joint 9th.
