The Kumbang Special by Chris Summers almost certainly started life as a Marwyn, as evidenced by the nose, but modified to use Morgan style sliding pillar suspension. It was probably the prototype car, modified by Ron Messenger with Cooper wheels to overcome the instability of the standard cars. Ron probably sold the car to Chris in late 1950.
For sale in Autosport, December 1952 but Chris was still driving her in September 1953.
From the side, the similarity with the Messenger is clear.
