White Lloyd

White Lloyd

Anthony White completed his 500 in 1948, based on a Lloyd backbone chassis, Lloyd being a maker of small engined road cars from Grimsby.White-Lloyd 1.jpg (71512 bytes)

To this, White added parallelogram front suspension and a swing axle at the rear, both sprung by means of transverse leaf springs. The engine was a JAP mounted at the rear. Unfortunately, the backbone chassis meant that the engine, gearbox  and driver sat quite high and the handling was compromised as a result.
