John Turner |
In the mid sixties, a small band of enthusiasts recognised that there was a need to preserve and actively use 500cc cars. John Turner was amongst them and became membership secretary for the newly formed 500 Owners Association in 1968. Other members of that first committee included Peter Kendall, Chairman, Edie Silk as Editor and Tony Griffin as Treasurer. Sadly most of the original protagonists but John continues to compete and win. His sees the power disadvantage of the JAP as a constant challenge and makes a point of embarrassing the Norton powered cars at every opportunity.
