Syd Herbert

Syd Herbert

Syd Herbert starting motor racing with a Kieft  for a year before switching to an 1172 Formula car.

In 1966 Syd bought a Mini Cooper S contesting rallies for the South Bucks Motor Club before joining Silverstone Circuit in 1969, where he became known throughout motorsport as 'Silverstone Syd'.

Syd is responsible for the fire tender and is often first to the scene of any shunt, for which we are all very grateful!
