Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell, by birth Australian, had an eventful life as you can see from this article published in Wheels magazine in June 1955. As well as his military and stunt man exploits, he raced for several years in the German Formula 3 Championship. For 1950, he built and raced his own  RC Special.

Bruce failed to finish at Hockenheim in May, took tenth place at the Nürburgring in June, failed at Leverkusen on 2nd July, then tenth in the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. He DNF'd at Grenzlandring in September and finished the season with a seventh at the Feldbergrennen on 1st October.

For 1953, he planned to use one of Manfred Herbster's cars but his season was cut short at Hockenheim in May when a serious fire left him in hospital for a number of months.

Our thanks to Bruce Campbell Junior for this article.
